Westinpower relies on Perkins to help power the world

Guangdong Westinpower Power Co. Ltd. supplies more than 9,000 diesel and gas powered generator sets annually to customers in 130 countries. Since the company’s establishment in Shantou Guangdong, China in 2003, more than 15,000 of those generator sets have been Perkins-powered.

“Using a supplier like Perkins gives us access to products that meet the emission standards for different markets, meaning we can support our customers’ global power requirements. Our ability to provide global power solutions – which is a key part of our brand proposition – is also supported by the Perkins after-sales service network, so our customers have access to genuine Perkins parts and service,” explained George Chen, general manager assistant at Westinpower.

Westinpower uses the full range of Perkins engines from the compact 400 Series to the powerful 61 litre 4000 Series delivering 2500 kVA. Their generator sets support critical operations like data and cloud computing centres, mines and aviation facilities, as well as construction sites, manufacturing plants and agricultural operations. They also are widely used in the rental industry.

“Using these engine models means our Perkins-powered diesel generator sets are suitable for a wide variety of working conditions and deliver excellent fuel economy, which helps us maintain our competitiveness in the industry,” Mr. Chen said.

The support and cooperation from the local Perkins distributor, Sime Darby Elco Power Equipment Ltd., has been invaluable and has helped Westinpower, “to sell more than 15,000 Perkins-powered diesel generator sets to global customers,” he added,
