Keeping the lights on

The 20-story Eco-centre business tower in Kolkata, India is located in the heart of the city’s IT hub in Salt Lake Kolkata. Developed as a multi-use location, it houses IT facilities, corporate offices, a variety of start-up companies and a boutique hotel at the top oﬀering a 360-degree view of the skyline.

Captiva Energy Solutions was chosen to supply back-up generators for the Eco-centre project. The company was founded in Kolkata in 2010 to provide dependable back-up power to businesses across the country. They supplied two customised 1886 kVA generator sets for the project, each powered by a 12 cylinder, 46 litre Perkins^® 4012-46TAG2A engine.

Punyendu continued: “The tower requires around 200 hours of backup power supply per year, for which the Perkins^® 4000 Series engine are truly a pioneer in providing a constant power supply.
