Headquartered in Kolkata, one of its key projects is the Eco-centre Business Tower – a 20-storey high rise commercial building in the heart of the IT hub in Salt Lake Kolkata, which also features a boutique hotel at the top of the tower offering a 360-degree view of the skyline.

Determined to provide businesses with a reliable power source, Captiva Energy Solutions was founded in 2010 in Kolkata, India, with its aim being to specialise in customised industrial generators. Captiva knew that to be successful, its products would have to be compact, meet international regulations and emission standards, and be supported by a responsive and customer-focused service network. 

In just 11 years, the company has quickly grown its presence in the Indian market by offering customised diesel-powered generator sets, along with control systems, acoustic solutions and an exhaust solution which are designed to suit the customers’ demands. 

To provide the dependable power that’s required, Captiva has chosen to only work with quality component suppliers such as Perkins, whose 4000 Series diesel engines provide high-power, dependable solutions for the Indian market.

Perkins® 4000 Series – a powerful solution

To keep the power on, 24/7, the Eco-centre Business Tower is equipped with two Captiva generator sets, each fitted with a Perkins® 4012-46TAG2A installed in 2016. The engine’s 12 cylinders and 46 litre displacement provide a powerful solution, thanks to an impressive 1886 kVA output from this compact package.

“We’ve worked closely with Captiva and Perkins for over six years now and we’re very pleased with the services offered by their team to us,” said Punyendu. “Captiva’s advanced generator sets, and the Perkins engines are easy to maintain and have proved to be very reliable. Most importantly, the team is always happy to help us, even for the smallest of things, whenever we need them.”

In the six years since they were installed, the generator sets and engines have been regularly serviced, so that when they are required, they deliver the constant power required.

Punyendu added: “The tower requires around 200 hours of back-up power supply per year, for which the Perkins 4000 Series engine are truly a pioneer in providing a constant power supply.”
