One of its most important projects is the SWT-TEAM self-propelled transport vehicle, designed specifically for the harsh conditions of underground mines, with the main function being the transportation of mining personnel, explosives and auxiliary materials. This project is based on the SWT vehicle, which was designed by TEAM MP. Sp. z o.o. and includes key design improvements to increase reliability, off-road capabilities and driver and passenger safety. These improvements include a reinforced frame, operator tracking system and a new drive system.

Mine transport vehicles must withstand high temperatures, humidity, salinity and uneven terrain. To meet these challenges, TEAM MP sp. z o.o. has improved its SWT-TEAM vehicles with a reinforced frame, operator tracking system and new driveline. But at the heart of these improvements is a reliable power source – the Perkins^® 904J-E36TA engine, supplied by BU Power Systems.

The Perkins 904J-E36TA was selected for its ability to deliver consistent power and efficiency in extreme conditions. Its 3.6-litre, four-cylinder design delivers up to 100 kW (134 hp), ensuring smooth operation even when fully loaded or climbing steep grades. With 550 Nm of torque at just 1,500 rpm, the engine delivers high performance at low revs, essential when navigating tight mine spaces.

Fuel efficiency is another key benefit. The engine’s advanced fuel injection system optimises fuel consumption without compromising performance – a key factor in reducing operating costs in 24/7 mining operations. In addition, a high-strength cast iron block and reinforced components ensure durability and reliability, minimising downtime and maintenance.

In addition to its performance, the 904J-E36TA meets EU Stage V emission standards, helping mining operations comply with environmental regulations without sacrificing power. And thanks to BU Power Systems’ extensive service network, operators can count on expert support whenever needed.
