Bull Machines builds export markets with Perkins powered backhoes

With two world-class manufacturing plants and more than 30,000 products operating around the world, Bull Machines Pvt. Ltd. of Coimbatore, India is a leading supplier of loaders and backhoes in India and numerous export markets. Owned by the 56 year old AV Group, Bull is an established brand with more than 600 dealers globally.

When they decided to expand their export business with loaders and backhoes tailor-made for markets in Africa and South East Asia choosing the right engine became a critical priority.

As Bull’s founder and managing director, Mr. V. Parthiban explained: “The engine manufacturer had to be of international repute and presence.”

It proved to be an easy choice.

Bull collaborated with Perkins and its Indian distributor Gmmco Power to develop an engine package that met both Bull’s requirements and those of its export customers. The engine Bull chose for its HD1004WD 100 hp (75 kW) backhoe loader after a detailed technical collaboration and an application study, is a Perkins^® 1104D-44TA.

The turbocharged 1104D-44TA oﬀers an optimum combination of power delivery and response in the HD1004WD application. It is reliable and easy to maintain with 500-hour service intervals and single side service components, for ease of end user servicing, both important features for Bull’s African and South East Asian customers.
