Wuxi, just 90 minutes from the economic and industrial powerhouse of Shanghai, offers excellent road, rail and air transport links, and an established industrial infrastructure. Growing production

Perkins engines from Wuxi are already playing a leading part in powering the rapid expansion of China’s domestic construction and electricity generation sectors.

Since 2008 Wuxi has supplied customers across China and the wider Asia region with the compact 400 Series of 2, 3 and 4 cylinder engines. Just two years later the opening of a new 1100 Series production line – around 18,000 square metres – gave Wuxi the capacity to significantly contribute to Perkins annual global production.

Engines from Wuxi go to machine manufacturers and end-users in the construction, agricultural, materials handling and electric power sectors across China and the Asia-Pacific region, and also in the Middle East, South America and Europe.

The assembly lines are driven by the latest computer-driven robotic technology, with the same high-quality systems, processes and quality control as every Perkins facility. The Caterpillar Production System guarantees consistent quality and reliability, and the state-of-the-art test beds, material labs and computer aided design capabilities ensure that components can be validated and tested to Perkins global high standards.
