The bigger the machine, the bigger the responsibility. With over 90 years of engine expertise under its belt, Perkins ensures reliability, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of its range of large industrial engines. The comprehensive engine range has been designed to deliver power and confidence to heavy equipment owners and operators from fields to quarries to construction sites – anywhere the most demanding work gets done. The power, performance, and lowered emissions our engines achieve are all part of our dedication to powering bigger better.
The culmination of years of research, development, and testing, Perkins' largest engines lead with innovative designs and technologies. Our mission is to create better, more efficient ways to effectively power your biggest equipment — streamlining installation and maintenance while delivering power up to 597 kW (800 hp).
Our lineup, ranging from 9.3- to 18-litres, is adaptable for a wide range of applications so that we can show up where you need us. We know that every job demands something different, so we have built a lineup of highly-tested, rigorously-proven engines that can easily meet the challenges thrown at them.
Around the world, customers rely on Perkins’ large engine power every single day.
Take Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG), who for more than 30 years has been a leading player both in the Chinese and global construction industries. The XCMG team is dedicated to delivering a wide range of construction equipment and services that its global customer base can rely on. Quality and innovation are central to its core brand values, which is why XCMG carefully selects its component suppliers.
Since 2018 XCMG’s mining division has selected Perkins’ engines to provide the dependable power behind its 75-ton hydraulic excavator – the XE750D – which has a reinforced front working device with a rock bucket that can hold a large volume. The excavator is fitted with a 2506D-E15TA, 15 litre Perkins engine delivering a powerful 403 kW at 2100 rpm.
Meanwhile high-pressure and high-volume units like Pioneer Pump’s 8” to 14” Pioneer Prime diesel- driven packages act as the workhorse for a wide range of applications. Powered by a Perkins® 1706J-E93TA engine, these pumps dewater and transfer water in mines, quarries and oil fields. They also assist with municipal bypass and storm water management after major disasters. A brand of Franklin Electric, Pioneer Pump was established in 1998 and is a global leader in the centrifugal pumps industry.
The Perkins® 1700 Series engines offer intense yet reliable power across challenging applications, including construction, quarry work, and agriculture. This 9.3-litre turbocharged solution was specially designed to deliver power-dense performance under even the harshest conditions. To prove its worth, we put this engine through rigorous testing and rounds of optimisation to ensure it’s ready to perform when called on.
The 2400 Series optimises the total cost of ownership and achieves exceptional output. This 12.5-litre engine combines advanced technologies to create space-saving performance and lower your total cost of ownership by optimising power density. We designed our 2400 Series to help owners and operators reduce the size of and standardise their engine platform without losing the power and performance they’re used to.
Our 2800 Series offers an 18-litre turbocharged engine designed to deliver performance with outstanding power density for exceptionally hard-working applications. With a design engineered to help streamline installation and a power range rigorously tested under several challenging conditions, the 2800 Series stands up to even your biggest, most demanding jobs.
We have spent over 90 years designing, re-thinking, and re-engineering engines that can more efficiently and reliably power your biggest equipment better. With flexible fuel options and built with genuine Perkins parts, our line-up is adaptable, tough, and rigorously tested — all to help ensure your biggest machines are ready to power ahead whenever and wherever you need them.
Perkins is proud to provide both power — and people — you can count on.
On an ongoing basis, the Perkins team is proud to offer dedicated global support through our distributor network — ready to assist with expert maintenance, genuine Perkins parts, and engineering insights. No matter where you are in the world when your machines are on, so are we.
After more than 90 years in the industry, we know that regular maintenance is the number one way to ensure your engine performs at its best and lasts as long as possible. In fact, missing service intervals can lead to a 20-percent drop in performance, often before the operator even notices.
Our service experts know how to help you ensure you’re getting everything you can out of your engine — from preventive maintenance to critical repairs and full engine overhauls, all with genuine Perkins parts.
We offer helpful maintenance advice via our always-available team of expert advisors and the Perkins® My Engine App, which provides you access to every bit of information you might need to manage your engine right at your fingertips.
We know that efficiency is paramount. That’s why we have reworked, reimagined, and re-designed our delivery of reliable power — but it’s also why we focus on customer service and easily-accessible expert advice and genuine Perkins parts, available anytime you need them, day or night.
