New repair sleeves extend the life of Perkins® 1100 Series engines.
Cost-effective solution enables targeted repairs of cylinder bores as a flexible alternative to full engine overhauls, by extending the life and restoring the performance of 1100 Series engines.
A new line of repair sleeves for its 1100 Series engines has been introduced by Perkins. The repair sleeves enable end users to return cylinder bores to like-new performance while avoiding the downtime, expense, and waste of a full engine overhaul.
Available now worldwide, the Perkins® 1100 Series repair sleeves allow technicians to restore individual cylinders to their factory dimensions, allowing the original, standard-sized pistons to be retained and maintaining proper engine balance. This process significantly reduces the amount of material removed from the block, helping to extend the life of the original casting while minimising shop time and waste.
Proven to do the job
The repair sleeves are composed of the same material as the engine block to match the wear, thermal and machining characteristics. They have been validated by Perkins engineers for optimal stability and durability through physical accelerated wear tests, simulation analysis, and material analysis and specification.
The repair sleeves are suitable for 1100 Series engines configured on off-highway equipment and power solutions in the field since 2003. Offering power output up to 205 kW (275 hp), Perkins 1100 Series engines are used on applications such as tractors, chippers, grinders and other off-highway equipment, small generator sets and small marine propulsion systems.
Flexible and cost effective solution
“As the complexity and expense of engine overhauls have risen over time, equipment owners have requested a flexible, cost-effective solution that enables them to extend operational lifetimes with minimal downtime for service,” said Richard Hemmings, Perkins aftermarket general manager. “This innovative solution for one of our most prevalent engine lines illustrates how our continuous collaboration with customers helps them overcome the challenges they face every day.”
Genuine Perkins parts are engineered and tested to the latest factory specifications to support as-new quality and performance. Reliable, genuine parts are designed to return Perkins engines to peak performance for maximum uptime and reduced ownership costs.
1100 Series engine repair sleeves are available through the Perkins global distributor network, which offers a full suite of genuine support and service that help improve performance, longevity and lower total cost of ownership. Services include genuine parts, oil, coolant, fluid testing, engine inspections, preventative maintenance, the Perkins® Platinum Protection extended warranty, and the expertise of fully trained technicians.

Perkins repair solutions help extend the life of your equipment
Maintaining your Perkins engine is the key to its optimum performance. Slight changes in performance can easily go un-noticed, often a drop of 20 percent in performance can happen before the operator notices. Missing service intervals can lead to reduction in performance or in the worst case, a vital part failing.
Every engine we supply comes with a detailed list of checks for you to carry out at set intervals. The performance checks required vary by engine type and operating conditions, so it is wise to ensure the checks and frequency are right for your engine. You can find the check list for your engine and a lot more information besides in the free Perkins® My Engine App.
To help you maintain your engine, Perkins supplies a range of repair products which can considerably enhance the performance of your engine and extend its life. These parts are available to order quickly and easily from your local Perkins distributor and include fuel injectors, fuel injection pumps, turbochargers and electrics (both starter motors and alternators).
If you’re attending the Middle East Energy (MEE) show in Dubai, which this year is taking place from April 16-18, then call by the Perkins stand – S2.A30 – where our team of experts are on-hand to talk you through the 1100 Series repair sleeves and all the repair solutions offered by Perkins.
