Lincoln Electric’s new welder/generator

Lincoln Electric’s new Vantage 441X welder/generator is aimed at heavy-duty applications in industries including pipeline construction, power generation, shipbuilding, structural, maintenance and repair operations. It supports both high-capacity welding operations with an IEC welding output rating of 400 amps at 34 volts with a 100 percent duty cycle and the ability to supply up to 17 kW of power to other industrial tools or even another inverter welding system.

Like Lincoln’s popular Classic® and SAE® lines, the new 441X is powered by a Perkins engine. The 404F-E22T was chosen after lab and field testing in the harsh environments Lincoln’s portable welding systems often are exposed to, including cold weather and high altitudes.

The Perkins® 404F-E22T is a 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged, direct injection engine producing 36.4 kW at 2800 rpm. It benefits from a suite of features that provide an optimum combination of reliability, flexibility and performance while meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.

“The power source of any machine is one of the most important – if not the most important – component of a machine.” explained Nicholas Winarski, Lincoln product manager – industrial engine drives. “We chose Perkins to power the new Vantage 441X because we can rely on the quality of their engines, as well as their global distributor and parts networks. So no matter where in the world one of our machines are located, we know Perkins support is close by.”
