Börger has been manufacturing high-quality rotary lobe pumps for more than 35 years. Their product lines include 25 different sizes of positive displacement pumps with flow rates ranging from 1 to 1,450 m3 /h.
Having the modular design system allows each pump to be configured specifically for the application in which it will be used which makes Börger pumps an ideal choice for everything from industrial, municipal and environmental technology facilities, to agricultural applications and even marine installations.
When a fire or flood occurs, the ability to reliably move large quantities of water quickly is often the difference between a disaster and an inconvenience. For many local groups of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), fire brigades and plant fire brigades, the preferred solution is a Perkins powered mobile high-performance pump from Börger GmbH of Borken-Weseke, Germany.

The modular design system allows each pump to be configured specifically for the application in which it will be used. This makes Börger pumps an ideal choice for everything from industrial, municipal and environmental technology facilities, to agricultural applications and even marine installations.
The compact design, the short-term dry-run capability and the ability to pump in slurp peration are the reasons why the Borger Pump is the ideal mobile pump.
Regardless of the application, each mobile pump is designed and manufactured by Börger “from a single source” including everything from the base frame to the pump and control technology.
Börger relies on Perkins engines to power the high-performance mobile pumps often chosen by disaster control professionals. The plant fire brigade of a leading German chemical company offers an excellent example of how well the combination performs.
The pump is used to supply water to fire fighting vehicles, sprinkler systems, and deluge guns which is drawn from a storage tank or a nearby river. It is mounted on a 5.5 tonne truck trailer and driven by a 129 kW Perkins® 1204F-E44TTA industrial open power unit (IOPU) that develops 750 Nm of torque to deliver up to 192 m3/h. The fuel tank is integrated into the base frame of the pump to save space.
Flood control is another application for which disaster control professionals often choose Perkins powered Börger mobile pumps. Anne Börger-Olthoff, managing director of Börger GmbH, explains the reasons.
“Perkins engines are absolutely reliable and are also used in our pumps for flood fighting. In addition to THW task forces and fire brigades, also numerous water associations rely on the reliable Börger-Perkins combination.
“The easy-to-maintain pumps with flow rates of up to 1,450 m3/h are used here. The high-performance pumps are mounted on trailers and are driven by Perkins engines. In case of flooding, the pump is used at strategically important locations and protects residential areas from flooding.
“It is not only the reliability of the motors that is important to us,” she added. “We can now look back on several years of trusting cooperation with our Perkins distributor BU Power Systems.”
