The ATMOS PDP 50 is the latest addition to the popular series, designed for customers in the EU to comply with the latest environmental requirements. The versatile machine is available with operating pressures of 7, 10, 12 and 14 bar, making it an ideal choice for applications ranging from sand, soda and dry ice blasting, air tools, pile drivers, drilling or blowing fibre optic cables for telecommunication projects.
The compressor features electronic controls that monitor all important operating parameters in real time, large, separate air filters for the engine and air end to extend maintenance intervals and an on-board eight hour fuel supply. It can be equipped with a variety of options including aftercooler and heat exchanger, oil drip trays to protect sensitive environments and Chalwyn valve and spark arrestor for operation in hazardous environments like refineries.
Like all PDP Series compressors, the PDP 50 is powered by a Perkins diesel engine. In this case, a 3-cylinder Perkins® 403J-E17T that delivers 36 kW and 166 Nm of torque while meeting EU Stage V emission requirements. Stage V compliance also allows the PDP 50 to be used in urban areas for example, where the latest emission standards must be adhered to.
As one of Perkins’ most compact engines, the 403J-E17T is an ideal choice for applications like the PDP 50, as it combines highly competitive performance and fuel economy with reliability and low cost of ownership.
“Our PDP series compressors benefit from an exceptionally long service life, not least due to the solid Perkins engines. In addition, with Perkins we can rely on an established and global service network. This is very important for us as a leading global supplier,” says Franz Weisbrod, international sales director at ATMOS Chrást.
“In addition, the ATMOS PDP series compressors can be flexibly configured. Depending on the location and the customer’s requirements, there are a wide variety of options. With the Perkins 400 Series engine, we have chosen a motor that can respond flexibly to these wishes and that runs robustly and reliably.”
