Perkins helps Ahlm set the foundation for construction success

“Universal Power has always been very straightforward. They provide short and efficient support channels and highly knowledgeable staff, both during the project planning phase and throughout service and aftersales support,” says Ahlm Service Technician Rickard Jeppsson. “We make extensive use of remote support, often using TeamViewer, as distances are typically long. This allows us to efficiently integrate and troubleshoot the engine in our machines, ensuring smooth operation, even from a distance.”
An engine that can handle tough workloads
Ahlm relies on the Perkins® 1204J-E44TTAG engine, a four-cylinder engine meeting EU Stage V/U.S Tier 4 Final emission standards, which has proven to be well-suited for their self-levelling screed machines. Its robust design and efficient performance make it ideal for both small- and large-scale flooring projects. “Perkins engines perform exceptionally well,” says Jeppsson. “Our machines operate in modes where the load can shift from 5% to 70–80% within seconds, and Perkins engines consistently handle these rapid changes without compromising performance or reliability.”
The durability and low maintenance requirements of Perkins engines have helped Ahlm complete projects on time, even in harsh environments. “Any downtime exceeding 15 minutes can generate costs between 100,000 and 200,000 SEK (15,952.50 GBP pounds),” says Jeppsson. “Reliability is crucial.”
