Equipment Journal writes that agility, resilience and versatility are the attributes being sought in Caterpillar’s Global Operator Challenge, as it invites entries for the contest’s third run.
First launched in 2019, the 2025-2026 challenge opened for entries on December 9, promising more events, countries and operators than ever before.
In the first round, operators will be invited to compete in local challenges facilitated by Cat dealers around the world. Entrants will need to complete at least three different challenges, on three separate pieces of equipment, to be scored for skills, safety, efficiency and competence in using integrated technologies such as payload, grade control and other operator features to optimise their performance at the controls of the machines.
Winners from these events will advance to regional semi-final competitions during autumn 2025, from which nine finalists will be selected to participate at ConExpo, in March 2026.
An overall winner will receive either $10,000 in cash, or an equal value trip for two to any destination where Caterpillar has a location.
