United Rentals has introduced what is believed to be the rental industry’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assistant. As reported in Pro Contractor Rentals magazine, United Rentals’ ‘Equipment Agent’ will help customers quickly select the optimum equipment for their projects.
The magazine reports Tony Leopold, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at United Rentals saying: “The Equipment Agent connects United Rentals’ equipment expertise with our customers' needs. It replaces traditional searching and filtering with an intuitive, agentic chat experience. Customers using the Equipment Agent are seeing a 70 percent improvement in finding the right equipment for their projects.”
Pro Contractor Rentals reports that the Equipment Agent is the newest part of United Rentals ongoing effort to provide digital tools and data insights to help customers plan and execute their products more efficiently. The goal is to simplify equipment selection and provide expert guidance based on the company’s decades of fleet knowledge and jobsite experience.
