Construction industry highlights AI and electric power at CES 2024.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainable lower and no-carbon solutions were featured in new construction industry products and technologies at the recent CES 2024 exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to International Rental News magazine, the highlights included:

  • Hyundai’s Xite, a “transformative” approach to job site automation integrating autonomous, sustainably-powered vehicles and robotics with AI and data-based technologies.
  • Bobcat’s At450X autonomous, all-electric articulating tractor equipped with Agtonomy software aimed at critical tasks in limited space applications like orchards and vineyards.
  • Kubota’s New Agri Concept, a highly-flexible, all-electric, multi-purpose vehicle featuring a rapid charging system able to bring the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in six minutes.
  • Caterpillar’s “Power of Possible” exhibit included a new zero-exhaust-emission underground loader for mining with the industry’s first on-board battery and fast-charging system plus a new mini excavator.
  • John Deere, whose cloud-based John Deere Operations Centre to support agricultural productivity was a CES 2024 Innovation Awards Honouree.
