Experts from some of the leading skid steer Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) were interviewed in a recent edition of IVT International to elicit their favourite tips for maintaining the vehicles they produce. The article identified five recommendations that apply universally to these commonly used vehicles.
The recommendations include:
- Daily checks of fluid levels, filters, leaks, missing caps and closures and proper tyre inflation.
- Regular fluid sampling.
- Monitoring vehicle usage via telematics to schedule routine maintenance and support troubleshooting.
- Emphasising the operator’s key role in vehicle maintenance.
- Utilising OEM maintenance support programmes to ensure on-time delivery of parts and services while minimising the burden on employees.
