Visitor numbers to November’s Bauma China event were up 40 percent on expectations, writes Power Progress, cementing the event’s status as Asia Pacific’s largest construction equipment event after 281,000 flocked to the halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
Organiser Messe München hailed the success as an ‘incredible comeback’, after the previous show in 2020, heavily affected by the pandemic, saw only 80,000 visitors. Just 3,000 of those were foreign visitors, while the 2024 event drew more than 20% of its visitor count from overseas. Russia, India and Malaysia represented the top three.
Exhibitor numbers were equally impressive, reaching 3,542 from 32 countries. CEO of Messe München, Stefan Rummel, said: “The density of top players and outstanding technologies was inspiring. For our company, Bauma China is a guarantee and cornerstone of our success.”
Yang Chengjian, global senior vice president of Caterpillar said: “Bauma China provides an excellent platform for showcasing innovative products, services, and solutions that address the industry’s present and future needs.”
