George Moubayed, senior vice president of Caterpillar’s Enterprise Strategy Division, will add the duties of Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officer to his responsibilities in 2024. He will succeed Lou Balmer-Millar in that position upon her retirement at the end of 2023.
According to International Rental News, as Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officer Moubayed will report directly to Jim Umpleby, Caterpillar Chairman and CEO. In describing the importance of the position, Umpleby said: “Sustainability is an integral part of this strategy as we help our customers achieve their climate-related objectives and build a better, more sustainable world.”
During his 25 year career with Caterpillar Moubayed has held a number of leadership positions including vice president and general manager of load and haul products for Resource Industries, and vice president for aftermarket solutions for the segment. He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada with a degree in engineering.
