Customers demanded a smaller excavator for lighter-duty construction, utility and landscaping needs. So, global construction equipment manufacturer, Wacker Neuson, answered their call with the ET42 compact tracked excavator.
The ET42 offers a wider range of motion, an expansion in power and an increase in operator comfort over other models, allowing customers to dig and dump with more flexibility. The machine's 3-point kinematic bucket linkage system has a 200-degree angle of rotation with a hydraulic quick connect system that helps operators rapidly change attachments without leaving the cab. In fact, Wacker Neuson tailored the ET42 toward the operator, developing an ergonomic cab with air conditioning, an air-cushioned seat, a low-profile hood, an expanded side window and load-sensing joystick controls. Meanwhile, the undercarriage is equipped with dual flange rollers to minimize vibration while digging.
To make this all possible, Wacker Neuson opted for the three-cylinder, turbocharged Perkins® 403J-E17T diesel engine. According to Martin Spandl, technical project lead at Wacker Neuson: “We can run the machine more dynamically and can run the maximum available torque of the engine.” With Perkins' help, Wacker Neuson's ET42 compact tracked excavator breaks new ground while putting customers first.
