WIP reports on how U.S. tariffs will impact generator sales

of

The recently announced 25 percent U.S. tariffs on aluminium and steel components and finished goods imported from the UK will heavily impact the global generator set market according to an article in Worldwide Independent Power magazine.

WIP stated that the U.S. imported about $5.1 billion worth of commercial and industrial generators in 2023 virtually all of which will be impacted to some degree by tariffs, regardless of the country of origin. In addition, many domestically produced generators in the U.S. utilise imported diesel engines, control panels, circuit breakers, voltage regulators and other components which are also subject to tariffs.

All of this comes as the industry is responding to expanding demand across the full spectrum of U.S. markets. The net result will be increased prices across the industry.
