M.K.C.G Medical College and Hospital, one of India’s foremost healthcare institutes started life as a college. In 1966 it became a hospital, set up by the Government of Odisha. It now functions under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. This prestigious institution is the Alma Mater to more than 5000 M.B.B.S. graduates and more than 1,000 postgraduates (M.D/M.S) and para-medics, as well as nurses and medical laboratory technicians among others.
An important service like healthcare always needs to be responsive and in operation 24x7. To provide a consistent delivery of care and learning, the M.K.C.G hospital required an efficient and reliable power solution to provide a steady supply of power for up to 500 hours a year.
To meet its standby power needs, the hospital installed two Perkins-powered generators on-site. The Perkins® 4008-30TAG2 and 4012-46TAG0A engines deliver 1010 and 1250 kVA respectively. Each engine is designed to provide superior block loading capabilities, an important feature in critical installations in hospitals and the health care sector.
