The annual International Rental News (IRN) survey, which ranks rental companies based on previous year revenue, has been published. It shows that the overall industry is continuing its positive recovery from the pandemic with total 2021 revenues up 15 percent to €56.9 billion compared to a 6.4 percent 2020 drop caused by Covid.
The survey showed strong growth in China which accounted for three of the top five companies with the most growth. But, Europe and North America continued to represent 80 percent of the revenues reported. Europe, in particular, performed well with 38 companies in the top 100, the best showing since 2018.
The top 10 companies in the IRN survey were: United Rentals, Ashtead Group, Aktio Corp., Loxam, Aggreko, Herc Rentals, Willscott Mobile Mini, Kanamoto, Modulaire and Boels Rental.
