Prevent wear and contamination that hurt performance.
For oil sampling, trend analysis - using historical results as the basis for normal results - provides the best indication of health. Any deviation from the trend may indicate a problem. Establishing a trend requires repeated (three to five) sample results from the same compartment. Oil and equipment hours must be accurate.
