Perkins is proud to support Peterborough Pride

Perkins is proud to be a sponsor of Peterborough Pride 2022, which this year takes place in the city on Saturday August 20.

This is the second year Perkins has stepped forward to support the free event which is a city-wide celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in Peterborough and the eastern region, raising both awareness and campaigning for a better city that recognises and celebrates difference.

“I’m delighted that Perkins is supporting this year’s event, both through sponsorship and through its people, a large contingent of which will be taking part in the parade and subsequent activities at The Green Backyard,” says Allister Dennis, who chairs the company’s LGBTIQ+ UK Employee Resource Group.

“Perkins has been at the heart of the Peterborough community for 90 years this year, so it’s fitting that we lend our support to such an important celebration in our local community,” adds Allister, who will be among the Perkins employees joining the parade.

LGBTIQ+ UK committee member Rob Smith is another employee looking forward to Saturday’s (August 20) family friendly celebration. “Peterborough Pride gets bigger and better every year, and this weekend’s event is no exception. It promises to be a great celebration and I hope local residents will join the parade route or the events at The Green Backyard that will be running throughout the afternoon.”

Rob adds: “I’m so proud to work for a company that actively supports Peterborough Pride to the benefit of the community, while also supporting its people by investing in a wide range of employee resource groups, including LAMBDA.”

Peterborough Pride is a free, family friendly event which is open to the public. The Pride Parade starts at 3pm from Stanley Recreation Grounds, Embankment Road, followed by a host of celebration events from 3.30-7.30pm at The Green Backyard in Oundle Road.
