Perkins lifts the curtain on impressive new 4006 Electronic engine

The atmosphere was electric as Perkins unveiled its high-power density and dependable new 4006 Electronic engine at packed launch events in three of India’s most thriving cities.

Perkins was proud to showcase its breakthrough 4006 Electronic engine to more than 800 customers and consultants at a series of exclusive launch events held across India.

The seminars in Mumbai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad proved hugely popular as visitors arrived for a first look at the powerful new engine solution that’s designed for India and built in India.

Leading generator manufacturers, who trust Perkins to power their machines, co-hosted the events. In Mumbai on August 3, Sterling Generators worked alongside us. In Kolkata on August 10, it was the turn of Captiva Energy Solutions. Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad on the August 17, Supernova Engineers Limited were our partners. The events in Mumbai and Kolkata were supported by Powerparts, Perkins appointed distributor for North and East India. Gmmco Power, Perkins appointed distributor for South, West and Central India supported the Ahmedabad event. At each of the locations the engine was unveiled to a captive audience who took a keen interest in the breakthrough design.

High-profile presentations

A packed agenda was delivered by several influential keynote speakers. All three events featured indepth insights from Abhinav Gupta, Perkins regional marketing manager – South Asia and Pankaj Jha, Perkins general sales manager – South Asia.

The value proposition presentation of the new engine was handled by Andy Ashton, product manager – LPSD, in Mumbai and Kolkata, while Dale Jones took over duties in Ahmedabad.

Giving a unique generator builder’s perspective in Mumbai was Khurshed Daruvala, CMD – Sterling and Wilson and Sanjay Jadhav, CEO – PowerGen business, Sterling Generators. Arijit Bose, Executive Director – Captiva Energy Solutions, spoke in Kolkata, while Samir Mistry, Chairman and Managing Director of Supernova and Executive Director DD Pundlik took to the stage in Ahmedabad.

Among the highlights was a focus on the features and benefits of the new engine. The main message was that if you’re looking for a durable and powerful solution to keep your generators performing at their best, even in the harshest conditions, the new Perkins 4006 Electronic is the ideal solution.

The 6 cylinder, 23 litre electronically controlled diesel engine delivers 750 kVA of dependable prime electric power. Its electronic control system marks a significant step forward for Indian customers, bringing a boost in power and performance and delivering better fuel economy, reduced emissions and optimised performance.

Presentations were also made to highlight Perkins heritage, global capabilities and our company’s plans both in India and around the world.

Key messages included the fact that Perkins has the local knowledge and global engineering excellence to meet both the prime and standby requirements of the Indian market. Speakers also stressed the company’s rich heritage of more than 85 years, its global support capabilities and the fact the business is trusted by more than 1,000 leading manufacturers globally.
