Another fantastic week at bauma Munich 2025! The 2025 edition of the world’s largest trade show for construction and mining took place in Munich, Germany on April 7-13. Perkins attended the show to exhibit the latest off-highway power system technologies; from fuel flexible optimised engines to products & services to support the transition to electrification – we had plenty to talk about!

Perkins and our distributor BU Power Systems were on stand A4.336 to showcase the latest developments in off-highway power.

Peter Haddock, industry expert, caught up with engineering manager Paul Muller, on the 2606 engine, pointing out its key features and benefits which allows the 2606 to deliver more power density in a much smaller footprint.

Perkins debuts battery electric power unit at bauma 2025

Paul Muller from Perkins Engines shows iVT the engine manufacturer's all new prototype – a battery electric power unit that can be dropped into a machine in place of an engine in an easy plug-and-play swap.

One of Perkins' standout strategies is its collaborative approach. Instead of prescribing one-size-fits-all solutions, Perkins actively engages with OEM partners to understand their unique requirements and customer needs.

Peter Haddock spoke with Ian Evans, Engineering Manager, about Project Coeus, which aims to develop a hybrid power solution combining spark-ignited alternative fuels like hydrogen with electric drive systems to replicate the performance and responsiveness of diesel.
