Perkins was awarded a coveted contract to supply the large engines required by Fujian Weisheng Machinery to develop export-ready forklift loaders. With a world-class power system installed, the new machines can go full throttle for global success.
Chinese machine manufacturer Fujian Weisheng Machinery Development Co., Ltd has built a reputation for product
innovation and quality since it was founded in 2003. The business specialises in developing and building forklift trucks, wheel loaders, forklift loaders, telescopic handlers and mining solutions.
In recent years, Weisheng has turned its focus towards the stonemining sector, in which there has been a growing demand for highefficiency, high-performance machines. The company has been leading the way in producing high volumes of heavy duty forklift loaders, which have become an indispensable piece of kit for moving large blocks of rock on worksites.
As well as impressing customers domestically, Weisheng’s innovative machines have been gaining the attention of mining firms across Europe and America.
Keen to maximise these evolving opportunities, Weisheng began the journey of developing an export ready forklift loader. High on its list of priorities was to achieve the necessary emission requirements for export markets.
Weisheng began its search for an engine supplier that could help it achieve emissions compliance, while also delivering market-leading power, robust performance and a responsive global support network.
After an in-depth study into leading domestic and international engine builders, the company selected Perkins to provide a worldleading power system for its export machine.
The engine of choice was the Perkins® 1106D-E70TA. This 6 cylinder, 7 litre unit delivers up to 205 kW (274.9 hp) of dependable power. It gives Weisheng’s forklifts an excellent combination of power delivery and response, emissions compliance, and the best technologies to ensure a reliable and easy to maintain machine.
Throughout the extensive integration and validation work, Weisheng has been full of bpraise for the Perkins engine solution.
“This machine is powered by the 7 litre 1106D-E70TA, but all the performance data collected is equivalent to, or exceeds, the performance of other manufacturers’ 9 litre or even 10 litre units,” said a representative from Weisheng. “We have certainly made the right decision choosing Perkins."
The successful commissioning of Weisheng’s new machine strengthens Perkins reputation in China as a business with the capabilities to fulfil manufacturers' larger-engine needs.
