San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, is safeguarding its reputation and the safety of its patients with a 5 MW standby power solution developed by Green Power and Perkins.

For any hospital, a reliable power supply is nothing short of a lifesaver. If power drops out from the local grid, the problem needs to be cured instantaneously with a seamless switch to standby.

San Raffaele Hospital, in the Italian city of Milan, required this exact solution – a robust generator set capable of delivering the 5 MW of back-up power necessary to cover all its critical loads during a power cut.

The hospital also needed the unit to be compact enough to fit inside a 30 ft container. Parallel configuration and minimal intervention time were also high on the priority list.

The customer selected generator set manufacturer Green Power to deliver the project and, in turn, Green Power picked out Perkins as its ideal engine associate. Perkins provided the power-dense, economical and dependable 4012-46TAG2A temperate engine the client needed.

An enduring and powerful collaboration

The final installation delivers on all the client’s requirements, and Green Power credits Perkins with helping its business excel.

“Our business and growth over the years have a lot to thank Perkins for,” said Green Power CEO Raffaele Brugnettini. “Without its impressive power range, all the options and configurations it offers, and a strong name that opens up new global markets to us, no comparable development would have ever been possible.”

Green Power is a leading manufacturer of generating sets, building canopies, frames, electric panels and all the other components at its premises in Caprazzino, Pesaro – Italy.
