Rental equipment choices are driven by the need for up-time, which is why the power that’s inside the machine really matters. Located at The ARA Show 2026 in booth #2255 of the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, Perkins will promote its advanced lineup of diesel engines specifically tailored for machinery used by rental customers. Perkins supports a broad range of rental equipment from pumps, compressors and welders to mobile generator sets, compact track loaders, mini excavators and aerial work platforms.

“The rental industry is more competitive than ever, and rental solutions have to exceed expectations for reliability, durability and ease of use,” said Corey Berry, global rental sales and marketing manager for Perkins. “We’re poised with power solutions and technical resources specifically aimed at helping rental companies maximise their uptime, expedite the return-to-ready process, provide a clear line of communication for support, and instil confidence in rental operators when using machines powered by Perkins.”

Next-generation power solutions for rental customers

At The ARA Show, Perkins is showing its proven Perkins® 904 Series 3.6-litre engine, a compact, power-dense platform supporting rental applications such as small telehandlers and skid steer loaders requiring up to 121 hp (90 kW). This four-cylinder engine meets U.S. Tier 4 Final standards. It provides excellent performance in power, peak and low-speed torque, fuel consumption and transient response. Reliable and easy to service, 904 Series engines are available with a range of configuration options to fit within tight engine bay space allocations.

The Perkins® 404J-E22T will also be shown on the stand. Designed for compact machinery – much of which is sold into rental – the power and torque available from this engine range gives the customer excellent torque backup, increasing the overall power range available from the 400 Series engines. This engine provides customers with the power they need across different emissions territories. The 400J is designed to suit a wide variety of compact construction and industrial applications. Construction applications such as mini excavators, skid steer loaders and mini wheeled loaders are a significant market for this product. Perkins is also aware of the need for this size of engine in other high-volume equipment such as forklift trucks, compressors, welders, aerial work platforms, compaction equipment, sweepers and pumps.
