Perkins marine will unveil a concept design from the next generation propulsion range, the Perkins® M245C, at Seawork International 2025, marking a significant milestone for Perkins marine.

The M245C, a 6-cylinder 249 HP engine, is one of the three marine propulsion models currently in development. This lineup will also include the M175C and M200C models—each engineered to deliver robust performance for both commercial and leisure applications. The new models are also designed for versatility with features that enable ease of repower and flexible options for new builds.

The new propulsion platform is currently undergoing design and validation at Perkins marine headquarters in Wimborne, UK, a site with a proud legacy of marine engine manufacturing dating back to the 1960s. Plans are also underway for field testing aboard commercial workboats, ensuring real world performance and durability, offering the trusted reliability that defines the Perkins brand.

In addition to performance and durability, the new propulsion range will meet modern emissions standards, offering customers a future-proof solution that supports long-term investment and compliance with evolving emission standards.

Whether navigating coastal waters or enduring offshore demands, these engines are built to perform in tough marine environments. Designed today to power the vessels of the past and the future.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the order board opening in Quarter 4, 2025.

Distributors, OEMs, yards, fleet operators, industry professionals and the press are invited to see the concept M245C firsthand at Seawork International, taking place in Southampton from June 10–12, 2025. The M245C will be showcased alongside the E44 auxiliary engine at Stand E35.
