Perkins Engines Company Limited has entered into an agreement appointing Seco Power as an authorised Perkins distributor for 21 countries in West and Central Africa. Seco Power, part of the Secodi group, will provide sales, parts and service support to Perkins customers in these countries.
A regional headquarters in Mauritius will be complemented by regional offices first in the Ivory Coast, then in Senegal and Cameroon. In addition, Seco Power will serve customers and second level dealers from facilities in multiple key locations throughout the service area.
Owned by the Fetis family, Secodi was established in 1978, and over the years has expanded its offering to become the appointed Perkins distributor in France, Finland, Estonia and Spain, as well as in Turkey through Power TK.
“I’m excited to be working with Seco Power across these key countries in West and Central Africa,” said Jaz Gill, Vice President of global sales, marketing, service and parts at Perkins. “I’m confident Seco Power, which can leverage the experience of the wider Secodi distribution group, will deliver a consistent and quality service for our customers.”
Yannick Billy, CEO of Secodi said: “We are pleased to have been appointed to manage Perkins distribution activities across 21 Western and Central African countries. This is a natural growth path for Secodi as we have been supporting our French and Turkish customers acting in Africa for a few years now. Since the creation of Secodi, product support and a local presence have been our main drivers to meet customers’ needs and expectations.”
Seco Power is well positioned to support the strategic efforts of Perkins to grow parts sales and support customer needs in Africa. The company has already appointed Bruno Chappuis, who brings with him a wealth of experience working in the African market, as regional manager. In his new role, Bruno will develop the organisation and ensure the delivery of a consistently high level of quality product support. “I am very honoured to lead the Seco Power team in Africa to serve our customers with a market leading service,” he said.
