How we differ from the rest
Competitors offer rebuilt or reconditioned or repaired parts. They take a part to pieces, clean it up and rebuild it using the same components.
That’s not how we do it. We use the latest technology in remanufacturing to rework used core and bring it back to its original OEM specification, creating a stock of remanufactured parts that are as good as new. When we need to, as part of the remanufacturing process we always use 100 percent new genuine Perkins parts at the latest specification, so you can be assured your Perkins remanufactured part really is as good as new.
What parts are available?
Our remanufactured parts are available for our full range, from compact to large engines. The key product offerings covered by our Power Exchange scheme are:
- Fuel injection parts
- Long engine – the block with cylinders and cylinder head, all ready assembled
How Power Exchange works
When you buy a Perkins remanufactured part from one of our distributors through our Power Exchange scheme, you pay around 70 percent of the cost of a new part plus around 30 percent surcharge.
You have 12 months to send your old part to the distributor. They will assess the part to make sure no pieces are missing and that the part is useable. For example, they will check there is no fire damage.
With your old part returned successfully to our distributor, your surcharge is paid back to you.
Our remanufactured parts are boxed exactly the same as new parts – featuring the Perkins hologram. Why the same appearance? It’s because we are just as confident with our remanufactured parts as we are with our new parts.
As a customer, you get the same high quality Perkins part for less, lowering the cost of ownership of your Perkins engine.
We get back parts we can make fully useable. If we can’t re-use parts our customers send us in exchange, the Power Exchange process means we can destroy the part, making sure competitors can’t get hold of it, clean it up and sell it on to the detriment of our customers.
The environment benefits, too. The Power Exchange scheme is a socially responsible, sustainable aftermarket solution. It keeps non-renewable resources in circulation and use. It means instead of just one life, Perkins parts are brought back for many more lifetimes.
