Unwanted water. You’d be hard-pressed to find a construction site that doesn’t struggle with that scourge. Rainwater and ground water are both all-too-frequent nuisances that need to be hastily removed to keep projects on time and on budget—which is why pumps are true MVPs on many jobsites.

Atlas Copco’s new PAS 200 HF vacuum prime centrifugal pump is a strategic addition to any rental fleet, because the mobile unit’s versatility it can be put to use monthly, weekly or even daily for whatever the project needs at any given moment. Powered by the Perkins® 904J-E36TA engine, the PAS 200 pump offers up high efficiency (75 percent B.E.P.) and a high resistance to abrasive liquids and turbid sandy waters. Its semi-open impeller enables it to even pump liquids with solids in suspension. This pump model’s eight-inch suction and discharge flange is larger than others Atlas Copco makes and also enables operators to move a bigger amount of water through one specific pump, instead of have to distribute it over multiple smaller pumps. And streamlining their equipment needs should appeal to most renters.  

Getting low

Atlas Copco also lowered its pump profile with the PAS 200 to make operators’ lives a bit simpler each day. Renters can easily access and manage the pipes and connections with the machine height brought down. The pump’s performance is even bumped up thanks to the bonus suction lift it gains from being closer to the ground. Another plus? The lower profile makes towing easier than ever—particularly when there are multiple pumps on the move at once. Also keeping renters happy is the pump’s swing door, which makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze. Obstacle trapped somewhere in the pump? Just open the built-in hinge, clean out the intruding object and the PAS 200 is back at work in less than a coffee break. And that’s all without having to touch the hose.

The most supportive support

Thanks to its versatility and ease of use, the PAS 200 pump is likely to be in heavy rotation on rental lots. To ensure that momentum keeps going, the machine comes paired with the Perkins Rental Support Programme, which lets rental stores self-support and save time. The programme offers direct access to electronic tooling, service training, parts ordering (usually including same-day shipping), warranty claim submission and even more services to make fleet managers’ lives infinitely easier.
