Perkins: the right choice for rental houses

Perkins: the right choice for rental houses

Perkins understands what matters most to rental houses – getting the best return on your investment with engines that are low cost to own and operate, easy to service and maintain, and simple for customers to use. All our engines deliver those benefits by design and our Perkins® Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 litre range, which is focused on the needs of the rental market, is set to further strengthen our offering.

Perkins engines are the trusted choice in the booming global rental market. With decades of experience supporting rental houses, we understand the issues that matter to you.

All our engines deliver the low cost of ownership and operation, ease of use and reliability that you demand. If there is a problem, you can rely on us to respond quickly and get your engine back out to rent – earning you money – as fast as we can.

Of all the engines Perkins supplies to the rental sector, the Perkins Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 litre engines are a trusted favourite. Equipment most commonly hired out – including aerial equipment, light towers, welders, air compressors and generators – falls into the horsepower range this compact range offers.

Perkins has launched a new range of electronic 1.7 and 2.2 litre engines targeted at the specific requirements of rental houses. The Perkins Syncro 1.7 litre comes in a 3 cylinder turbocharged option, along with two 4 cylinder options, both 2.2 litre, one turbocharged and the other turbocharged and aftercooled. All engines meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.

Designed for rental

A number of design features make the engines particularly suited to rental. They have a high-pressure fuel system, which gives a cleaner combustion burn. This means the engine doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF) or the addition of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Instead the 1.7 and 2.2 litre engines use a simple diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) aftertreatment system, which is service free, meaning there’s no machine downtime.

It also requires no regeneration or additional operator functionality.

This ease of use and reduced downtime has real benefits for the rental market. It means satisfied rental customers, less maintenance and lower repair costs for the rental company. And that’s good for your bottom line.

It’s not just our engines that make Perkins stand out in the rental arena. Unrivalled dedication and support come with every engine.
