Perkins introduced new engines and customer service and support programmes at Bauma China 2016 in a demonstration of its continued commitment to the China market and its customers there. Perkins unveiled its new Perkins® Syncro 2.8 litre engine at the show and introduced the market to its new 9-18 litre extended industrial engine range with Perkins first-ever display in China of an industrial engine larger than 7.1 litres.
Perkins showcased its world-class power solutions at Bauma China 2016, re-affirming its commitment to China and the country’s construction market.
Alongside impressive displays of the latest diesel engine technology and innovation, Perkins and its distributors used the show at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre to promote a number of new aftermarket programmes and products.
Highlights of the event for Perkins included the first-ever showing of the Perkins Syncro 2.8 litre engine. It is part of the Perkins Syncro range of 4 cylinder, 2.8 and 3.6 litre common rail diesel engines delivering 45-100 kW (60-134 hp), that will meet multiple global emissions standards including EU Stage V and U.S EPA Tier 4 Final.
Strong interest in Perkins in the Chinese media was driven by the product launches and aided by press briefings and a live web cast.
“The press coverage we’ve obtained reflects the growing interest in Perkins in the China market. We have the right products for the construction market; the right service network to support customers, and our local manufacturing facility in Wuxi producing our 400 and 1100 Series engines for the domestic and export market. Our manufacturing plant recently produced its 200,000th engine, which we were proud to display at Bauma China.”
Perkins three China distributors, Lei Shing Hong Machinery, Elco Power Systems and WesTrac, supported the Perkins team on the stand throughout the show. Their presence helped underline the high level of customer support provided through Perkins extensive network in China, as well as easy access to Perkins genuine parts.
Visitors to the stand learned about the benefits of using the new Perkins diesel engine oil. The special formulation is designed for optimum engine performance and longevity and will be available in China in early 2017.
Perkins also introduced its new replacement engines solutions to the China market. A 404D-22 engine on display reinforced the message that Perkins can offer competitive pricing and better availability with its a comprehensive range of remanufactured and replacement engine solutions.
Among other programmes promoted at the Perkins stand was Perkins Platinum Protection (PPP), which gives end-users the opportunity to extend their standard warranty from 2-10 years.
Perkins and its distributors met numerous customers throughout the show. In addition, many customers had Perkins powered machines on display. Among these were Fiori Equipment Shanghai’s concrete mixer powered by an 1104D-44T, Shangdong Furuide’s 2 tonne roller with a 403D-11, Wacker Neuson’s 6 ton hex using a 404D-22T, and XCMG's access platforms using the 404D-22, 404D-22T and the 1104D-44T.
