Agritechnica 2017

Perkins to showcase new crop of EU Stage V engine solutions at Agritechnica

EU Stage V ready engine solutions, designed to meet the unique demands of the global agriculture market, will take centre stage as Perkins makes its bi-annual trip to Germany for Agritechnica 2017. With a compelling, customer-focused addition to its aftermarket offering – the Perkins® SmartCap, also being featured, the company will further cement its position as a trusted supplier of dependable engines and unrivalled product support to this important market.

The latest advances in Perkins agricultural line-up, including Stage V ready engine solutions and exciting additions to its aftermarket range including the Perkins SmartCap and Perkins® My Engine App, will provide the highlights as Perkins returns to Agritechnica in November at Hall 16, Stand D41.

The show, held at Hanover Fairground in Germany from November 12-18, is one of Europe’s leading agricultural events. This year, some 2,900 exhibitors will head there to promote an array of cutting-edge products and engines, all designed to support the unique challenges of the sector.

With 85 years of proud agricultural heritage, the show is an important date in the Perkins calendar. It provides a perfect opportunity to reinforce its position as a prominent force within agriculture, and to strengthen relationships with the customers and OEMs who choose Perkins to power their machines.

Sharing the latest line-up

The company will use the event to showcase its latest line-up of engines for the agriculture sector, from the compact and popular Perkins® Syncro 2.2 litre up to the powerful and robust 1700 Series.

With new Stage V emission standards arriving in 2019, Stage V ready engines across the power ranges will be on display. Among those expected to generate a lot of interest will be the Stage V ready Perkins Syncro 3.6 litre model and the Stage V ready 1200 Series. Other engines on the stand will include the 1706 as well as our Perkins Syncro 2.2.

Perkins experts will be on hand to discuss the latest aftertreatment technologies designed to help customers meet the new standards. With vast experience in aftertreatment solutions – particularly diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems that have proven highly reliable in the field – the company will be keen to share its knowledge and expertise.

Visitors should also look out for a number of new machine launches where Perkins engines will be providing the power. The company has been busy building links with some fresh and ambitious new OEM customers – and the results will be there for all to see in Germany.

First to market with Perkins® SmartCap

The show will provide Perkins with the first opportunity to talk to customers about an innovative addition to its aftermarket range, Perkins SmartCap and the associated Perkins My Engine App.

The solution allows users to add telematic monitoring to any Perkins engine – mechanical and electronic – simply by replacing their normal oil cap with the Perkins SmartCap. It’s the first technology of its kind ever to come to market.

Perkins SmartCap transfers live data, such as stop-start and hours of use, direct to the Perkins My Engine App, allowing users to better plan their service schedules. Extra functions include information to support what parts an engine needs, and an easy way to find your local distributor.

It pays to choose Perkins oil and filters

Other highlights include the promotion of Perkins oil for EU Stage III and below engines and the importance of using good quality filters in agricultural machinery. Poor quality filters can cause thousands of pounds’ worth of damage to an engine, so choosing Perkins genuine filters should be part of every user’s engine-management process.

Visitors will also get to hear the latest on the company’s replacement engine solutions, which provide a cost-effective option for many agribusinesses across Europe. In countries where labour is expensive, choosing a replacement engine can be more economical than an overhaul. It also delivers the additional benefit of reducing machine downtime.

“Having worked on both our Stage V engine solutions and innovations such as Perkins SmartCap for a long period of time, the Perkins team is extremely excited to share all our latest developments with customers at Agritechnica,” added Jaz Gill, Perkins Vice President, Global Sales, Marketing, Service and Parts.

Come and meet the Perkins team and explore its latest engine and aftermarket solutions at Hall 16, Stand D41.
