Rental, a U.S. magazine serving equipment rental professionals for the past 39 years, has selected the Perkins® Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 litre as recipients of one of its 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards.
The Perkins Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 litre was chosen as a winner for the 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards based on several factors including innovation, utility for the rental market, and audience engagement online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental.
A range of compact engines, the Perkins Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 litre electronic products deliver optimised performance for today’s rental market.
Our durable engines are designed and tested to consistently meet the demands of rental machinery. Power from the Perkins Syncro 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged aftercooled model has been boosted to 50 kW (67 hp) with a maximum torque of 208 Nm at 1800 rpm, while rated speed is up to 2800 rpm. Customers also have the option of a turbocharged model offering up to 36 kW (48 hp).
Performance from the 3 cylinder turbocharged Perkins Syncro 1.7 litre is an impressive 29 kW (39 hp) with a maximum torque of 120 Nm at 1800 rpm, with rated speeds up to 2800 rpm. All models features common rail direct injection and full authority electronics and meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final / EU Stage IIIB emissions standards.
The compact package size and sleek engine architecture of the 2.2 and 1.7 litre models feature a rear-mounted small diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), allowing customers to adopt no-compromise machine designs across many compact applications including skid steer loaders, aerial work platforms, lift booms, wheeled loaders, hydraulic excavators and rollers.
Operators and end users will benefit from class leading torque, better load acceptance and smooth operation from machines equipped with these engines. Ease of servicing is another key benefit, with the DOC only aftertreatment being service free; along with a standard 500 hour service interval for fuel and oil filters.
The Perkins Syncro 1.7 and 2.2 liter engines are manufactured at Perkins Griffin, Georgia, U.S. facility.
“We’re excited to present the 2017 Editor’s Choice Award winners. As always, this year’s winning products represent the best of what leading manufacturers have to offer for today’s rental inventories,” says Jenny Lescohier, editor of Rental.
“Products chosen for this honour are those that construction professionals have shown active interest in, so it follows they’ll be looking for them at their preferred rental source. We’re pleased to offer this useful insight to our readers.”
The editorial teams from Rental and ForConstructionPros.com/Rental compiled web page views from products featured online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental and then considered those that received the most interest against a set of criteria to determine the winners.
The result is the 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards, a listing of the industry’s favoured products. Additional information on award recipients can be found in the October/November issue of Rental magazine and online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental.
