Four times lucky for Perkins Motores do Brasil Ltda as once again the company is recognised as a Top 10 employer in Brazil

Led by Rodrigo Chibior, facility manager at Perkins’ Curitiba manufacturing plant, a jubilant team from Perkins Motores do Brasil Ltda has collected a Top 10 employer award from the Great Place to Work Institute.

One of the most respected international research institutes in Brazil, Great Place to Work named Perkins as the tenth best medium multinational company to work for in Brazil. The award, which is decided through an independent employee survey, was revealed and delivered on Monday (August 14, 2017), during a ceremony held at the Espaço das Américas in São Paulo.

“This is the fourth consecutive year that we have been named as one of the best employers,” said a delighted Rodrigo. “To continually be recognised as one of the leading multinational companies to work for in Brazil is a tremendous honour and is one that the entire Perkins team is very pleased to accept.”

Rodrigo was joined by Elisabeth Hass, human resources manager; Luis Lemos, a manufacturing engineer and Mauricio de Lima, a multifunctional operator at the facility. Luis and Mauricio entered their names into a facility prize draw to win the chance to attend the event, and represent both Perkins and their colleagues.

This year 1,963 companies from across the country participated in the Great Place to Work survey, conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute. To help select the best organisations to work for, the institute considered a number of criteria which were then evaluated by the employees, anonymously.

“Once again the employee feedback provided through this anonymous survey recognises the benefits of the transparent communications we have put in place at the Curitiba facility,” said Elisabeth. “We have continued to focus on our Values in Action, which everyone on-site can identify with; values which reinforce our genuine concern and respect for every person who works at the facility, whatever job they do. It is these actions, among others, which have helped to maintain employee engagement throughout the year.”

Elisabeth continued: “It is exciting to be part of the Best Companies to Work for in Brazil and appreciate the strong connection between the company’s values and employee’s values. This is what really drives engagement and excellence and we are very proud of it. For me, one of the highlights of the year was encouraging our employees to talk to their children about Integrity. The children created videos on the meaning of Integrity and the winners were then invited to visit our facility.”

The Great Place to Work survey also highlighted the company’s positive focus on work-life balance, and its ongoing contribution to the community, which employees said made them proud to work for Perkins.

“I’m very pleased to have accepted this award in 2017, which is an important year for our business as we celebrate the company’s 85th anniversary,” added Rodrigo. “We have a proud heritage around the world and in Brazil, where since the opening of the Curitiba facility in 2003 we have continued to implement and deliver the highest manufacturing and quality standards, meeting our customers’ expectations both locally and globally in the agricultural, electric power and construction sectors.”
