Perkins team to take on the Longest Day Golf Challenge for Macmillan

A team of 24 Perkins employees in Peterborough are preparing to take on the challenge of 72 holes, around 300 shots and a 20 mile walk in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The challenge takes place on Wednesday June 21, on the longest day of the year, at Elton Furze golf course in Peterborough.

Team members Liam Round and Brian Eldred, explained why the challenge and Macmillan was so important to them: “The tiredness and pain we will encounter during this challenge is nothing compared to what cancer sufferers and survivors have to endure on a daily, weekly or even yearly basis.”

Playing in teams of four, the golfers have pledged to support each other throughout the event.

Hoping to raise more than £7,500 to support local Macmillan services are: Liam Round, Neal Axon-Smith, Ray Pagett, Gareth Nelson, Neil Baker, Bill Guest, Simon Randall, Craig Locke, Tim Chapman, Steve Wren, Adam Clegg, Sam Rayner, Tom Carlill, Neil Sinclair, Andy Noblett, Brian Eldred, Neil Thompson, Chris Curtis, Andrew Moss, Michael Graham, Simon Hedges, Gary Coaten, Simon Wren and Gary Smith.

The Perkins team are hoping their golfing challenge will raise more than £7,500 for Macmillan.
