The Business Studies Higher Apprenticeship scheme is a two year journey to launch your career within the manufacturing sector.
During this time you will spend one day a week at college studying for a Level 4 Business qualification. The rest of your time will be spent working in a variety of placement areas within the global Supply Chain organisation based at our Peterborough facility. Each placement will allow you to gain experience and knowledge of the function whilst learning key business know-how defined in an individual skills matrix. You will be expected to complete a project for each of your rotations that will add real benefit to the business and support your personal and professional development goals.
The functional areas you can expect to work in include: Customer Account Management, Production Planning, Logistics Engineering, Supplier Management, Freight Management and Export Documentation, giving you the potential to gain understanding and experience of the end-to-end supply chain at one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial diesel engines. As part of an international organisation, you will work with customers, suppliers and colleagues in many different countries. The Peterborough Supply Chain supports facilities in North America, Brazil, India and China with a network of suppliers spanning the globe.
Day-to-day you will report to your functional area team leader with on-going support, guidance and coaching from your line manager to help you fulfil your potential.

The Business Studies Higher Apprenticeship is designed for those who have completed A Levels or equivalent.
Minimum qualification requirement is: 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English and two A Levels at grade A-C or equivalent.
