Shanghai based Perkins distributor Lei Shing Hong Machinery (LSH) was among the Chinese businesses who stepped in to support the rapid build of the new Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan in February. The 1,000-bed facility, which cared for people with the COVID-19 virus, was built in 10 days and took just another four days to become operational.
To ensure the hospital could continue to operate in any power outage, LSH took the immediate decision to donate four Powerlink branded generator sets to the facility. Each set was fitted with a Perkins® 1103A-33G engine, designed to provide reliable standby power in the event the mains-grid went down.
Within 24 hours of LSH making its decision, the four generator sets had arrived in Wuhan. LSH also provided the resource to complete the transportation, assembly and testing on site.
Tommy Quan, Perkins Asia sales director said: “We are very proud that our distributor LSH was able to make an important contribution to both the hospital and to counter the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan.”
Our focus on the safety, health and well-being of our people, our distributors, our customers and the communities they serve remains unchanged. The global Perkins team is here to help provide access to the services and support you need to get the job done safely and effectively.
