Offering a value solution with proven core components, Perkins’ 2200 Series range, has attracted a lot of attention among gen set manufacturers.

The 2200 Series range is a family of 13 litre turbocharged and air-to-air aftercooled, electronically controlled diesel engines, offering outstanding power density and compactness.

The range builds on the strength of the already successful Perkins 2000 Series family and is focused on meeting the uncompromising demands of today’s power generation industry.  Its features of exceptional power to weight ratio and excellent fuel consumption are aligned to overall performance and reliability characteristics, making it a leading choice of power for the power genset industry.

Developed and tested using the latest engineering techniques and finite element analysis for high reliability, low oil usage and low wear, the 2206A-E13TAG2, offers 350 kVA prime power and 400 kVA standby power at 1500 rpm, while the 2206A-E13TAG3 offers 400 kVA prime power and 450 kVA standby power at 1500 rpm.

Mechanically operated unit fuel injectors with electronic control combined with carefully matched turbocharging, gives excellent fuel atomization and combustion, resulting in improved fuel economy.  High compression ratios ensure clean, rapid starting in all conditions and an exceptional power to weight ratio and compact size gives optimum power density for ease of installation.
