Perkins' apprentices scoop awards at manufacturing ceremony
Two Perkins apprentices walked away with prestigious accolades when they attended the Engineering Employers Federation (EEF) manufacturing awards for the South-East region.
First year apprentice Chris Worrall and final year apprentice Anton Barrick attended the Apprentice of the Year Award event held at Brooklands racetrack in Surrey.
In his category Chris Worrall was named as Runner Up – First Year Apprentice Award, with judges praising his determination and drive throughout his first year with Perkins.
Much to Anton’s delight he took the top prize when he was named as winner of the Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice Award.
The judges complemented Anton’s attitude, noted his workmanship and thirst for manufacturing engineering knowledge.
Anton will now represent Perkins and the EEF South East Region at the national final of the Future Manufacturing Awards in London where he will compete against five other regional winners to claim the national title. The competition winner will be announced at the national awards ceremony in February.
