Homeward bound for Perkins' Midnight Walkers

An intrepid team of fundraisers raised around £3,000 for Perkins’ charity of the year, Sue Ryder Care, when they took part in the group’s famous Midnight Walk.

The 12 mile walk, which started at midnight on May 16, saw more than 800 women take to the streets of Peterborough dressed in pink clothing and sporting flashing head gear.

Among those taking part was Perkins’ president Gwenne Henricks, Annette Johnson, Natalie Markham, Alison Tee, Mandy Gunner, Elaine Clarke and Nicol Barnard.

“I’m so proud of the team,” said Gwenne after the event. “To have completed the walk in under three and a half hours was a tremendous achievement. It was a great night and well done to everyone who participated.”
