Moustaches were flavour of the month for many of Perkins’ male employees throughout January when they agreed to support Sue Ryder Care’s ‘tash for cash’ campaign. Hair-raising effort

Moustaches were flavour of the month for many of Perkins’ male employees throughout January when they agreed to support Sue Ryder Care’s ‘tash for cash’ campaign.

For one month the dedicated group from the Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) quality team agreed to cast aside their razors and grow a variety of spectacular tash’s, all in aid of a good cause.

Their efforts, which were supported by generous donations from their colleagues, have raised around £1,350 for Sue Ryder Care.

In support of its charity of the year, Perkins will match the total sum raised, ensuring Sue Ryder Care receives a fantastic donation of around £2,700.

Gary Masters, a 6 Sigma black belt at Perkins, also had cause to celebrate after the Sue Ryder Care team picked him as the winner of their ‘Tash for Cash’ moustache competition.

More than 40 men from across Peterborough took part in the tash growing competition, with Gary’s impressive moustache winning favour with the charity and securing him the tash of the year title.

Natalie Riddler, fundraising manager, at Sue Ryder Care said: “We are delighted that so many of the team from Perkins have taken up the ‘tash for cash’ challenge to help raise vital funds for Sue Ryder Care.

“We need to raise £1million to provide care for people living with serious illnesses at Thorpe Hall Hospice so it’s really valuable to us to have such great support locally.

“Our tash growers have helped to raise money for a great cause and also brought smiles to a few faces too!”
