Garden makeover for Sue Ryder Care’s Thorpe Hall Hospice
Armed with spades, trowels and hoes, a team of volunteers from Caterpillar UK’s Legal Services Division recently gave their time to support the work of the gardeners at Sue Ryder Care’s Thorpe Hall Hospice.
The nine volunteers, who are based at Perkins’ headquarters in Eastfield, spent the day at Thorpe Hall, where they helped undertake tidying up work in the extensive grounds which surround the hospice.
The team, made up of Kurt Gehlbach, Jan Nicholls, Bryan McPherson, David Bianchi, Jim Barnes, Christine Brooke, Lia Young, Christine Livingstone and Zee Martin, described the day as “very rewarding” adding that it had been great to “support such a worthwhile cause”.
Sue Ryder Care is Perkins’ charity of the year, and thanks to the fundraising activities undertaken by employees in support of the local hospice, Perkins has currently raised around £35,000 for the charity.
