Promotional campaign for Great Eastern Run gathers pace
Perkins runners put their best foot forward when they helped launch an advertising campaign promoting next month’s Great Eastern Run.
With three weeks to go before thousands of runners take to the city’s streets to complete the 13.1 mile half marathon, Perkins representatives donned their running gear to help unveil the advertisement at Peterborough train station.
For the third year running Perkins is the main sponsor of the Great Eastern Run, which takes place on Sunday October 12 and includes a 5km fun run. Over the past two years the event has attracted substantial support from the city’s residents, who have both turned out to run the half marathon and cheer on those taking part in the event.
Marion King, marketing communications manager at Perkins Engines said: “Perkins is absolutely delighted to again be the principal sponsor of the Great Eastern Run. Last year’s event was superb with an incredible level of support and enthusiasm from both the runners and the crowds who turned up to watch.
“We look forward to being part of the team, working to inspire more people to take part and to guarantee this year’s event will be even more successful than last year’s.”
Peterborough City Council’s Neil Levine, the Great Eastern Run’s race director, said: “There is a real buzz in the city as Peterborough prepares to host the half-marathon and fun run on Sunday 12 October. There's still time to enter either event, but if people are not running we hope as many of them as possible will still take part by taking to the streets to cheer on the thousands of runners.
“As ever, we're really grateful for the continued support of our main sponsor Perkins Engines, as well as our other sponsors and the vital help of the city's running clubs.”
