With Class A certification, Perkins’ manufacturing operations are all about quality. The company is committed to machining all major components in-house, as shown by the recent installation of a new facility for 400 Series cylinder heads.

Building Perkins Diesel Engines - 1100 Series Production New technologies and techniques are constantly being implemented. At present our manufacturing engineers are able to ensure that any new engine configuration can be built before it goes near a production line. They ensure that none of the components on the engine interfere with each other. 

In the near future this process will be extended to include the production lines themselves. Perkins’ engineers will be able to ensure that the engine can fit within the constraints of the line, and that the automated tooling has the necessary clearance to be able to fit components. This will result in further improvements in quality.
